RTL-SDR (Software Defined Radio using Realtek RTL2832U) is a popular and affordable tool for receiving and processing a wide range of radio frequencies. The RF receiver relies on an inexpensive DVB-T dongle based on the Realtek RTL2832U chipset (that supports a USB interface) for receiving wideband RF trace data. As a wideband RF receiver that spans the frequency range of 24-1766 MHz, the device has many applications when combined with supporting software.

IntermodAnalyzer combines the RF spectrum analysis capabilities of AirSleuth with intermodulation analysis – employing patented Smart Frequency Sets to generate and monitor the most reliable frequencies for use by applications that require frequency coordination. Effective frequency management is crucial to avoid RF interference and intermodulation distortion (IMD) and requires selecting appropriate frequency bands, monitoring the RF spectrum for existing users and interference sources, and coordinating frequency assignments to minimize conflicts with other wireless devices and the probability of intermodulation distortion.

IntermodAnalyzer

Remote RFExplorer includes both “server-side” and “client-side” software. The “server-side” software acquires data from an attached RF Explorer device and uploads RF spectrum traces to cloud-based storage. The “client-side” software downloads those spectrum traces to a PC located anywhere in the world. Remote monitoring of an RF environment lends itself to a variety of new and exciting applications – the possibilities are endless.
